Can I buy an unlocked iPhone 3GS from Apple online or retail store?

I read that Apple is offering unlocked iPhone 3GS? Is it true? I know you can buy unlocked iPhone from ebay for example, but can I buy the new iPhone 3GS unlocked from Apple? If so would you give me a link or a how to do it? Thanks!

    You cant get them at Best Buy but I think you have to pay an extra fee to have it unlocked.

    I do not think it is possible. It can be sued only with at&t, so you would be better off waiting for the unlock (it is not available yet) and buy one from eBay – unlocked. In this case you can use it with any network.

    All I have to say is wait, and you can do it yourself! They Dev Team has not come out with one so that means you can buy one off EBAY or Craigslist…

    I’d say get an Iphone 3g which is almost the same as iphone 3gs. It’s a piece of cake to unlock iphone 3g and you save a lot of money. You can easily add video camera on iphone when you jailbreak it. The program is called Cycorder and it’s 100% free.
    By the way you can’t OFFICIALLY buy unlocked iphone 3gs in the US, but you can in some other countries. That’s how if someone is selling OFFICIALLY unlocked iphone on Ebay, they got it from a different country. It takes less than 15 mins to unlock an iphone 3g, and it’s extremely easy thanks to Devteam. You will probably end up paying up to $700 more for an iphone 3gs, when it has only one more feature which you can’t get on iphone 3g which is the compass. $700 for a compass?
